Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. dit•DAHs is designed to collect as little data as possible.

Privacy-First Summary: The app itself collects no personal data. Your practice data stays on your device. The only information we receive is what you choose to send us, as described below. No cookies, no ads, and no cross-site tracking.

What We Collect

The app itself does not collect or store personally identifiable information. The only information we receive is what you choose to send us, as described under Information You Send Us, below.

Our analytics provider (Plausible Analytics) processes limited technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and device type) to generate anonymous aggregated statistics. These data are:

Processed transiently (not stored)
Not used to identify individual users
Not shared with third parties
Automatically anonymized

We do not attempt to identify individual users and have no technical means to do so.

No cookies, no advertising trackers, no profiles of individual users.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first, cookie-free analytics tool.

What we track:

Pages you visit
How you found us (referral source)
Device type (mobile/desktop)
Approximate city-level location (derived from IP address and aggregated — individual IPs are never stored)
Anonymous usage events (for example, which practice mode is used, or which version of the app is running)

What we DON'T track:

Personal information
Individual behavior across sites
Anything that identifies you

Plausible is GDPR compliant by default. No cookies. No cross-site tracking.

Opt-out: Block plausible.io with a browser extension or content blocker. dit•DAHs keeps working without it.

Information You Send Us

If you request beta access, send feedback, or join the instructor interest list, we receive what you enter.

Beta access request: your email address, the user type you choose, an optional note, and a short anti-spam check (including how long the form took to fill in). The email you enter is also kept in your own browser so the app can re-check your access.
Feedback form: your message, the part of the app you were using, your device and browser type, and the app version. Only if you choose to give them: your email address, your name or call sign, and a testimonial with your sharing choice.
Quick feedback prompts: a thumbs reaction or a short comment, and the part of the app you were in.
Instructor interest list: the name, email address, optional call sign and how you would use dit•DAHs that you enter, so we can contact you if a dedicated instructor edition moves forward.
Support through Buy Me a Coffee: if you support dit•DAHs there, the name or handle, email address, message (including a video message, if you add one) and amount you give them.

We use this information to review access requests, contact you about the beta, answer feedback, and improve dit•DAHs. We use your email only for beta access and updates about dit•DAHs unless you ask for more. We use supporter details only to thank you and keep a record of support. We quote your feedback or name only with your separate permission. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising.

These submissions are collected with Google Forms and stored in Google Sheets by Google, which acts as our service provider and may process data in the United States and other countries (see Google's privacy policy). We limit access to people who need it to run dit•DAHs.

Support payments, messages and videos go through Buy Me a Coffee, not through us. It collects and shows them under its own privacy policy (for example, a supporter's name and message may appear on its page), and it keeps its own records.

We keep this information only as long as we need it for these purposes, and delete it when it is no longer needed or when you ask. To ask about what you sent us through these forms or Buy Me a Coffee, to have it corrected or deleted, or to withdraw permission to quote your feedback, email privacy@ditdahs.com from the address you used. We can look up only what you entered in a form or gave Buy Me a Coffee, using the email address or name you gave us. Anonymous analytics and the data on your device are not linked to you, so we cannot look them up.

Local-Only Data

The following stays on your device and is never sent to us:

User profiles (name, call sign)
Audio and practice settings
Custom mnemonics
Practice history and statistics
Layout preferences
Koch Method progress

You control and can delete all local data at any time through the app or your device settings.

What We Do Not Use

We do not use:

Cookies (Plausible is cookieless)
Advertising trackers
Social media pixels
Profiles of individual users
Cross-site tracking

Children's Privacy

dit•DAHs is not directed toward children under 13. However, because we do not collect personal data, the app may be used by minors under adult supervision and with parental consent.

For Scout troops and youth programs: Adult leaders must obtain parental consent and comply with youth protection policies.

Since we collect no personal data, there is nothing to request removal of. Questions? Contact support@ditdahs.com.

Third-Party Services

We use minimal third-party services:

Plausible Analytics: Privacy-first, cookieless analytics. No personal data collected. Learn more: plausible.io/data-policy
Vercel: Hosting and content delivery (no personal data collected)
Google (Forms and Sheets): Collects and stores the form submissions described above.
Buy Me a Coffee (optional link): The Contribute page links to Buy Me a Coffee. If you follow it, you leave dit•DAHs and that site's own privacy policy applies. If you support dit•DAHs there, we receive the details described under Information You Send Us.

Plausible and Vercel do not track individual users or collect personal information. Google receives only what you send through our forms.

Data Security

Since your practice data is stored locally on your device, security depends on your device and browser settings. We recommend:

Using a secure, up-to-date browser
Enabling device lock/password protection
Regular backups of important data

Your Rights

Because the app itself collects no personal data:

Your practice data and profiles are only on your device, so there is nothing for us to give you or delete there
For anything you sent through a form or Buy Me a Coffee, email privacy@ditdahs.com from the address you used to ask what you sent, or to have it corrected or deleted
You control your local data entirely
No opt-out needed (we don't track you)

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. We will never collect personal data without your explicit consent.
