Terms of Use
dit•DAHs is an educational tool for learning and practicing International Morse Code (CW). By using the App, you agree to the following terms.
1. Educational Purpose
The App is for personal learning only. It does not replace official study materials or licensing requirements. We do not guarantee exam passage or proficiency certification.
2. Amateur Radio Licensing
Using the App does not grant any radio operating privileges. You must obtain the appropriate license from your national authority (e.g., FCC in the United States).
3. ⚠️ Audio Safety
IMPORTANT: dit•DAHs produces audio tones for training.
- Start with LOW volume and adjust to a comfortable level
- Use headphones at MODERATE volumes
- Take 10-minute breaks every hour
- Stop if you experience discomfort, ringing, or fatigue
High-volume audio can cause permanent hearing damage. We are not liable for hearing injury from improper use. If you have hearing sensitivities, consult a doctor before use.
4. User Profiles
You may create a local user profile (preferred name, call sign). Profiles are stored only on your device and are not transmitted or synced to our servers.
5. Children Under 13
dit•DAHs does not collect personal information. Users under 13 must have parental permission and supervision.
For Scout troops and youth programs: Adult leaders must obtain parental consent and comply with youth protection policies.
6. Free and Paid Features
The App offers free (Fundamentals) and paid tiers (Advanced, Instructor Edition). Features and pricing may change over time.
Subscriptions (If/When Available): Instructor Edition subscriptions (if introduced) will renew automatically unless canceled through the App Store or Google Play.
7. Hardware Integration
dit•DAHs supports external paddles/keys via USB adapters (e.g., vBand).
We do not manufacture, sell, or support hardware devices. Users are responsible for hardware compatibility, setup, and troubleshooting. Use hardware at your own risk.
8. Instructor Edition
Instructors are solely responsible for:
- Obtaining student/parent consent before tracking progress
- Complying with FERPA, COPPA, and other student privacy laws
- Maintaining security of exported student data (JSON/QR codes)
We do not collect or store student data. Instructors are the data controllers.
9. No Warranty
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Functionality may change or be discontinued. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, data preservation, or device compatibility.
10. Limitation of Liability
Line & Signal Design Co. LLC is not liable for:
- Hearing injury from audio use
- Loss of data or device damage
- Failure to pass exams or meet proficiency standards
- Hardware malfunction or incompatibility
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid (if any) in the past 12 months.
11. External Links
dit•DAHs may link to third-party websites (FCC, ARRL, etc.). We do not control or endorse external content. Access third-party sites at your own risk.
12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Carolina. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Charleston County, South Carolina, except where prohibited by law.
You waive the right to participate in class actions.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
